の違いを教えて下さい？

両方「我慢できない」という意味ですが、次のような違いがあります。
I can’t resist.
resist : ～を我慢する、～に抵抗する
∟ 自分の欲を抑えれない
I can’t stand.
stand : ～が大嫌い、～に耐えられない
∟ 他の物事を我慢できない

I can’t resist smoking.
タバコを吸うのを我慢できない。

I can’t stand the smell of cigarette smoke.
タバコの匂いには耐えられない。
